Choose services, self-setup or paid setup. Wait for your reference, compatibility review and customer-specific order/data schedule. Keep the accepted version.
Your setup checklist
Check off planning steps on this device. Only checkbox states are saved locally—never business details, passwords, contract approvals or live service status. These checks do not activate anything.
Use your named service account and enable MFA where available. Never share passwords. Desk Overflow coordinates the invitation; an inquiry is not an account.
Add hours, holidays, services, service area and timezone. Start with the operating-details form; only use approved public business information.
Enter approved answers and lead fields. Remove sensitive-data requests. Define what the assistant may promise, what it must decline and when to hand off. Do not guess prices or availability.
Complete privacy preferences and the provider-issued data schedule. Confirm actual processors, retention, AI greeting, recording/transcription and fallback before live caller processing.
Use delegated calendar/website permissions if purchased. Send test email notifications. Confirm booking conflicts, timezones, opt-outs and the approved limits for any add-on.
Test a new lead, unknown question, closed hours, urgent request, transfer failure and a caller declining processing. Test booking only if purchased. Confirm no invented promises, wrong recipient or sensitive information in logs.
Record number ownership, forwarding destination, change window, fallback and carrier rollback. Desk Overflow verifies authority before any action.
Review the final order, current configuration and test results. Submit your approval reference. Desk Overflow confirms activation and obtains processor-supported recurring authorization separately.
Review notifications and usage statements. Request changes through support. Cancel or export data using the customer center when needed.
Compatibility and common questions
Do I keep my current business number?
Usually the first approach is conditional forwarding, subject to your carrier. We confirm compatibility and rollback before any change. Porting is a separate approved process; do not cancel your old carrier prematurely.
Does the base plan include booking or texts?
No. Calendar booking is a separate add-on. SMS and outbound AI require separate scope, registration/consent review and approval.
What happens when my minutes are used?
No paid overage is automatic. Your approved configuration must define a tested fallback. A real-time hard cap is not promised before provider validation.
Can I take payments or sensitive medical information?
The standard service excludes card details, passwords, government identifiers and regulated/sensitive workflows. Do not configure the agent to request them. Special handling requires separate review and supported agreements.
