Desk Overflow is an Iowa registered trade name operated by a sole proprietor based in Vinton, Iowa. This policy explains how information submitted through this website is handled. It does not replace a separate service agreement or customer-specific data-processing terms.
Information we collect
When you request information, we ask for your name, business name, email address, phone number, type of business, service interests and any details you choose to share. Technical hosting and form-processing providers may also collect ordinary connection data needed to operate and protect their services.
How we use it
We use inquiry details to respond to your request, understand your business needs, arrange a consultation, prepare a service proposal and maintain records of our communications. Submitting this form does not sign you up for marketing text messages or automated promotional calls.
Form processing and sharing
The contact form identifies its submission method before you send. When the button says “Prepare Inquiry Email,” your browser prepares an email and you must send it yourself. When the button says “Send My Request,” your inquiry is submitted through Google Apps Script and saved in a private Google Sheet controlled by Desk Overflow. An email alert may tell us that a saved inquiry needs review. The saved record, rather than the email alert, confirms receipt.
We record the form details, submission time, a request reference, response permission and the privacy-notice version. Links from our own posts may include source or campaign tags, which we save with your inquiry to understand which post brought you to us. Do not put personal or sensitive information in campaign tags. This site does not require an advertising pixel or tracking cookie for that attribution.
The static website is hosted on GitHub Pages; the existing hero photograph loads from Unsplash. In direct-submission mode, Google provides form processing, private storage and notification services. We use service providers as needed for inquiries or separately contracted services. We do not sell inquiry details. A request for information does not create a payment, subscription or service activation.
Security and retention
No online transmission is entirely risk-free. Please do not send payment card numbers, health records, passwords or other sensitive personal data in this form. We keep inquiries only as long as reasonably needed for legitimate business, operational and legal purposes. Requests for access, correction or deletion are handled as applicable law requires.
Telephone, SMS and AI services
Businesses that later engage Desk Overflow will review their own call-handling, recording, consent, texting, and data-retention requirements during onboarding. Texting and automated calling are not activated merely by submitting an inquiry. Service-specific terms and disclosures are established before deployment.
